A flurry of development applications (DA) have been received in recent months for a new street in Orange, including a house that will cost $1.46 million to build.

Orange City Council announced in August 2022 that the new southern extension of Silverdown Way would be named Kanzi Close. Silverdown Way is west of the CBD between the Escort Way and the Northern Distributor.

“Due to the limited availability of house numbers existing for Silverdown Way, a new road name is required to provide clear and concise house numbering,” council said.

A DA for 14 Kanzi Close is on exhibition for public comment until March 24 at 5pm.

The dwelling (the images in this story are from designs for this property within council papers) will have two-storeys and a loft, triple garage and inground pool. There will be five bedrooms, four bathrooms and three living areas.

According to the most recent council papers, on February 16, 2023 a DA application was approved for 8 Kanzi Close.

The construction cost for the two-storey house with garage, swimming pool and pool cabana was $1.46 million.

A 2,109-square-metre block of land on Kanzi Close is currently for sale for $750,000.
