A larger kitchen with new ovens, increased storage and three mobile workbenches will allow more community groups to access the 2nd Orange Scout Hall on Kite Street.

State MP Phil Donato, who helped the Scouts Association of Australia NSW Branch secure a $30,000 state government grant on behalf of 2nd Orange Scouts, was at the hall this week to check out the new facilities.
"The renovation to the hall’s kitchen enables the group to utilise upgraded and safe facilities to further expand food preparation and cooking skills in the Scouts, as well as allowing the option for other community organisations to use modern facilities for their functions” Donato said.
Geoff Metcalfe, group leader of 2nd Orange Scouts, said the renovation would allow scouts to prepare and serve food in the kitchen or the hall.
He said the new kitchen was more efficient and environmentally friendly than the old one.
