A number of roads remain closed around the area following recent heavy rains.

"Council crews have worked across the weekend to ensure as many roads as possible were re-opened, and also commenced fixing damage to roads," said Cabonne Council.

"We recognise that many roads across Cabonne have damage, and with more heavy rains predicted this week, this damage is likely to get worse.

"Please be patient with our crews as they work to repair, re-open, and safely restore road surfaces as quickly as possible."

The council has urged people to drive to road conditions, obey road signage, and to not enter flood waters or closed roads.

For emergency help phone the SES on 132 500.
