Organisers of Jacinta Price's No campaign event in Orange tonight "forgot" to book the venue. Oops

September 25, 2023

An event to promote the No case in the October 14, 2023 referendum about a Voice to Parliament has been forced to change venue just hours before it was due to start.

Senator Jacinta Price and National Party leader David Littleproud will be in Orange tonight (September 25, 2023) to speak about the No campaign.

The free forum was due to be held at the Coral Sea Room at Orange Ex-Services Club from 6pm, however shortly after midday on Monday an email was sent out to advise attendees that "due to unforeseen circumstances" the gathering would now be held at Duntryleague Golf Club.

Sources have told The Orange News Examiner that the No campaign event had to be moved at the last minute as nobody from the National Party - which is hosting the event - had booked the Coral Sea Room for tonight. The room is believed to be otherwise booked.

On Monday the club was awaiting information from the organisers so they could inform people who phone about the change of venue.

It is believed up to 200 people have booked a seat for the event.

The Orange News Examiner asked the office of Nationals MLC Sam Farraway, which has been promoting the campaign gathering, to confirm that somebody had forgotten to book the room.

In a response a spokesperson said only that it was "due to unforeseen circumstances".
