A woman missing on a rural property 200km north of Dubbo has been found deceased.
"The 74-year-old woman was reported missing to officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District on Friday (September 1, 2023), by a neighbour who had not seen her on the Quambone property for about a week," NSW Police said.
A command post was established on the property on Sandy Camp Road about 7am on Saturday (September 2, 2023), with a search conducted by local police, PolAir, RFS helicopter and members of the local RFS, VRA and SES.
During Monday's search the body of a woman was located about 12.45pm.
While she is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing person.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
Two days ago police had said that inquiries had "lead police to believe the woman was in Quambone on Monday 28 August 2023; however, she has not been seen since, and her car and dogs are still at her home".
A command post was established on the property about 7am on Saturday.
"An area surrounding the farmhouse has been searched with no sign of the missing woman," NSW Police said.
The woman was described as being of Caucasian appearance 160cm 165cm tall, with stocky building, grey hair, and usually seen wearing jeans, boots, a long-sleeved shirt, and a green baseball cap with OXLEY written on the front.
