If Charles and Camilla were looking for a holiday house near Orange...

It’s the sort of place you could imagine royal types Charles and Camilla bunking down if they ever found themselves in the NSW Central West.
Spot of horse riding, quaffing a few local drops, shooting into the sky at things with wings.

Set on 40 hectares in Shadforth, about 19km southeast of Orange, Strathmore is more than 400 square metres of house on two levels.

It was placed on the market on Monday afternoon.
Although Strathmore has Mod-Oz-Royal-Rural vibes to it, much of the palace style is cosmetic, via furniture and furnishings, meaning new owners could create their own aesthetic.

There are formal and informal living areas - lounge, family room and rumpus room.
The kitchen is built for entertaining and has a 900mm oven and separate pantry.
It has rural vistas and flows directly to the loggia (a covered outdoor walkway), which overlooks the level lawn and pool area.

“The eastern end of the home is dedicated to living areas while the western end features sleeping quarters complete with the indulgent master suite,” reads the listing.
Also on the ground floor are another two bedrooms and a study.
The first floor - a loft-cum-attic - houses a fourth bedroom and ensuite, and could double as guest accommodation.
There is a twin garage and carport parking for four.
The gardens are described as low maintenance, and the land is said to be well-watered with troughs in each paddock. It is fenced and has established pastures.
Steel yards, ramp and crush are located nearby the lock-up machinery shed.

The current owners have run sheep and cattle.
Millthorpe is a five-minute drive away.
The property is for sale through Benchmark Lifestyle Property. Phone: 6362 5988. Price on request.
