A little pat on the back for going above and beyond

Max Hazelton, Janice Harris, Reg Kidd, Kelly Rimmer, David Howe and Robbie Mortimer are among those who have been honoured at the inaugural Community Recognition Presentation today.
Member for Orange Phil Donato hosted the ceremony at Lucknow School Hall.
“It’s an honour to publicly recognise and celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of people and organisations in our local communities,” said Donato, who presented a certificate to award recipients.
“There are many people among us who go under the radar, humbly serving the community
or who are quietly achieving."

He said the recipients "are people who’ve volunteered decades of their lives to community activities and charitable causes; dedicated sportspersons and artists who are reaching the pinnacles of their fields; clever and innovative businesspeople making life better for others; dedicated professionals who’re advancing in their vocational craft; and there are kind and generous people - good Samaritans".
A number of groups were also honoured.
Award recipients include: Max Hazelton, Country Women’s Association, Nicole Vautin, Sarah McIntosh, Emu’s Rugby Club, Janice Harris, Jenny Coleman OAM, Katherine Skinner, Cumnock Show Society, Orange Running Festival, Volcanic Mountain Challenge, Bianca Fuller, Reg Kidd, Sam Rodwell, Orange Tongan Community, Haylee Redfern, Ronald McDonald House, C2G, Kristy Williams, Stronger Together. Pat Drabsch, Val Glasheen, Pauline Nicholson and Lynette Pengilly of Parkes Tennis Centre, Banjo Paterson Festival, Robbie Mortimer, Gnoo Blas, Orange Symphony Orchestra, Kelly Rimmer & and David Howe.
“It never ceases to amaze me as I continue to discover individuals and organisations across the Orange electorate, doing unique and extraordinary things," Donato said.
