16-year-old charged in Central West with "robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon"

A teenage boy is due to appear in children’s court today (Wednesday November 30, 2022) charged with multiple offences allegedly committed in the the past week.


Strike Force Monoceros was formed by officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District to investigate break, enter and steal offences within the Dubbo and surrounding areas.


Following a pursuit last Saturday (November 26, 2022), two men were charged in relation to the alleged theft of a silver Hyundai Tucson during an aggravated break and enter at a home on Ronald Street, Dubbo. It was later used in a ramraid at commercial premises in Geurie.

The men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested shortly after the vehicle crashed into a tree on Young Street. They were taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged, and they remain before the courts.


Following inquiries by detectives a 16-year-old boy was arrested about midday yesterday (Tuesday November 29, 2022), and taken to Dubbo Police Station.


He has now been charged with 14 offences: robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon (two counts), two counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, and two counts of drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, as well as eight offences relating to aggravated break and enters.


He was refused bail.

Police say inquiries are continuing.
