14-year-old charged following string of alleged car thefts and break and enters in Orange

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Friday at about 2pm following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Oxley Place in Orange.


Police will allege a number of stolen items were located during the search.


Officers attached to Central West Police District transported the boy to Orange Police Station, where he was charged with a number of break and enter and steal offences in Orange.

Between 10pm on Wednesday December 28, 2022 and 7am on Thursday December 29, 2022, police received a report of a break and enter at a home on Sunny South Crescent, Orange, where a Kia Carnival was stolen from the driveway.



About 3.30am on Sunday January 1, 2023, a Corolla sedan was stolen from the driveway of a home on Torulosa Way, Orange.


Between 5am and 7am on Sunday January 8, 2023, police received reports of a break and enter at a home on Betts Place, Orange.


Between 3am and 5am on Thursday January 12, 2023, police received reports of a break and enter at a home on Dairy Hill Place, Orange, where a Kia sedan was stolen from the driveway.

The boy was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and enter enclosed land without lawful excuse.



He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court in Parramatta tomorrow (Saturday January 14, 2023).


Investigations are continuing.
